Fourth of July in Rancho Sahuarita: 2016 Edition

Now that the “Red, White and Boom!” Fourth of July event is back for another year, there is a lot to celebrate. Between fun events, and plenty of opportunities for family time, there are many unique ways to spend your long weekend in the community.

Here’s four unique ways to celebrate the Fourth the Rancho Sahuarita way!

  • Kick off Saturday with a fitness class, or a jog around Sahuarita Lake.
    • The team at the clubhouse is hard at work constantly, working away at developing new and exciting programs and classes designed to challenge, push, and motivate you. Whether you are a fitness fanatic or a knockout newbie, you can be sure that you will find a class that suits you.
    • New to the community and not sure how to get started? Schedule a gym orientation with the Health and Wellness team. They will show you the ins and outs of the clubhouse gym, and walk you through all that the full schedule of classes has to offer.
    • Red, White and Boom! is moving to the Sahuarita Town Center this year, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate your patriotic spirit on the waterfront. Take a brisk jog early in the morning, or bring your kids and furry friends out for a sunset stroll later in the day.
  • Visit the Splash Park at Club Rancho Sahuarita.
    • With the long weekend on the way, you can be sure that the Splash Park at the Clubhouse is buzzing with activity. Did you know, each year the team at the Physical Plant spends months prepping the water park for residents each summer? Here are some other fun facts:
      • Combined, Rancho Sahuarita’s Splash Park offers over 300 total feet of water slides!
      • The Big Bucket fills with water, then splashes over the heads of lots of little ones approximately every 3 minutes. That means that in a typical day of operation (10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.), the Big Bucket will dump roughly 210 times!!
      • The Splash Park is famous! Rancho Sahuarita was featured on well-known Tucson blog spot – TucsonTopia…not once, but TWICE; thanks to its unique features and popularity amongst residents. Take a look back here.
  • Feeling patriotic? Visit the community’s newest amenity – the Armed Forces Tribute.
    • On the morning of July 4th, Rancho Sahuarita will hold a private dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Tribute, which is designed to be a permanent testament of gratitude to all those who have served or are serving our nation. Many residents of Rancho Sahuarita in particular are connected to the military in some way; whether it be through a spouse, child, sibling or friend who serves.
    • Later that day, the tribute will open for viewing and enjoyment by residents. Be sure to stop by and explore it, and pay tribute to those who do so much for our country each and every day.
  • Experience Red, White and Boom! in your backyard.
    • Join Rancho Sahuarita, the Town of Sahuarita, and other community partners for this year’s Independence Day event – at the Sahuarita Town Center! Enjoy live music, food trucks, face painters, jumping castles and more! The evening will conclude with an incredible fireworks show!
    • *Please bring donations of non-perishable food items for the Sahuarita Food Bank. Parking will be available at Sahuarita High School, Copper View Elementary, the SUSD Administration building, and at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Also please note that no pets are allowed.
    • Remember that this event is open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends and enjoy a spectacular Sahuarita Summer Night!

With so much happening in Rancho Sahuarita this weekend, there’s plenty to do to entertain you, your children, and even your family and friends from out of town. So enjoy the long weekend, and celebrate the Fourth of July the Rancho Sahuarita way.
