Friends of the Green Valley/Sahuarita Library In Search of Volunteers

From the Friends of the Green Valley/Sahuarita Library:

All residents in zip code 85629 recently received a letter about our annual membership drive. The Friends is an all-volunteer organization that provides support for programs and purchases materials for the Green Valley and Sahuarita Libraries. To accomplish these goals, the Friends raises funds by selling donated books through two used bookstores, one in the Green Valley Library and one in Green Valley Village, and on the Internet. Donations of gently used books and magazines are always welcome.

The other main sources of our funds are membership dues and donations.

Here is a partial list of programs we support:

Children’s, Youth and Intergenerational Programs

  • Summer reading programs
  • Storytimes for various ages
  • Create Club
  • Lego Club
  • Yarn Addicts
  • Book giveaways.

Programs for Adults

  • Book clubs in Green Valley and Sahuarita
  • Focus on Art: Lectures
  • Opera, Symphony and Humanities Programs
  • Purchase of books and other media
  • Tai Chi
  • Scholarships

If you are already a Friend, thank you for your support. If not, please consider supporting your local libraries by joining the Friends. For more information visit our website: gvlibraryfriends.org.
