Fun and Fresh Ideas for Spring Break at Home

It’s the month of March, and spring break for the kiddos is right around the corner. You might be going somewhere fun on vacation, have big plans to tackle projects around the house, or are just looking for some fun ways to spend time with family and entertain the kiddos during the week off. Here are some ideas that we found for fun things to do with family this month, with a little bit of a Rancho Sahuarita twist.

Spring into spring cleaning

If you haven’t already started, this can be a great time to start spring cleaning. Take this opportunity to start fresh and really get in the spirit of spring with some organization and tidying up. There are lots of cool articles online that you can find for helpful and innovative ways to organize your items. While you’re cleaning, consider making “Trash”, “Save” and “Donate” piles. And be sure to give to those less fortunate with the things you no longer need. It’s a great way to make a difference while you’re making some extra space in your house.

Bring out the little chefs in your little ones

Try a new recipe or baking idea! Here’s a cool article from Food Network with fun recipes that children can make over spring break. Healthy and delicious treats like these give your children something different to do, and they can give your child a break and the chance to distract from TV time or video games.

Get outside and soak in the Spring weather

Spring and fall are the best times of the year for weather in Arizona, especially in Rancho Sahuarita when everything is blooming, and the cold of winter is wrapping up. Make sure you and your family make the most it and get outside! Play a pick-up game of basketball at one of the neighborhood parks with your friends, or take a walk through the parks and trails with your loved ones.

Take a staycation close to home

You don’t need to go far to find fun staycation adventures. The beauty of Madera Canyon is just a short distance away, and can make for a great camping spot. Tucson is only a 15 to 20-minute drive up Interstate 19, and has its own diverse offering of parks, hiking and exploration spots. Pack the family up in the car with a picnic, and set off for an adventure of the day. Check out blog spots like TucsonTopia and VisitTucson for ideas of things to do near the city and all the surrounding areas. Not to mention, March is a busy event month for Rancho Sahuarita, and the Community Yard Sale, new Princess Tea Party, Saguaro Club Outings, Fiesta Sahuarita and Rancho Sahuarita Cancer Walk are just some of the fun things we have planned.

So with a little bit of effort, time and imagination, you can make sure this spring break is fresh, fun, and memorable for you and your family.
