Holiday Happenings in Rancho Sahuarita

December is upon us, and that means there are many fun events and programs geared around the holiday season right around the corner. It all kicks off this weekend, with the Saguaro Club Silver Friday Ugly Sweater Mixer, Friday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Members are encouraged to wear your ugliest sweater for this special holiday Saguaro Club happy hour. This event is for residents ages 55+, and runs from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Complimentary appetizers will be available and drink tickets will be sold for $3.50 each.

The fun continues Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., with the Children’s Holiday Party. Residents have the chance to see the holidays through the eyes of your child at this event, which is meant for children ages 3-18 years. The fee is $12 per child, and registration ahead of time via ActiveNet is required. Families will have the opportunity to visit with Santa, so don’t forget your cameras! The day will also feature lunch, crafts, a special story telling by Mrs. Claus and more.

Later that day, the annual Pet Pictures with Santa event takes place at 2:00 p.m. Bring your furry friends by the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse for a photo op with Santa Claus. Participating pets can receive, for $7.00, a 5X7 and 4 wallet-sized pictures. Pre-registration is not required however it is recommended to ensure a spot, (space is limited).

Later in the month, the holiday fun will continue with special editions of our monthly events, like Healthy Living Lecture and Toddler Camp. Visit ActiveNet for more details on all the specifics. Plus, the Letters to Santa Program and Community Tree Program are both underway! See ActiveNet or contact the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse for more information.

Finally, remember this holiday season to give back, and to do what you can to help the less fortunate in this special season of giving. On December 4th, you have the chance to drop off donations to benefit the Sahuarita Food Bank at the front of the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse. The drop-off will be manned from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and donors can simply pull up to the front of the clubhouse and make their donations. The greatest current needs are non-perishable foods that are protein-rich, (tuna, canned chicken, hearty soups, canned beans, and peanut butter) as well as cereals, pasta sauce and baby products like diapers and baby wipes. The need is especially great this holiday season, and anything helps.

Don’t miss out on all the holiday happenings this month at Rancho Sahuarita! From our families to yours, we wish you Happy Holidays and a blessed and prosperous New Year!
