It’s a New Year! Ready to Try Something New?
Pickleball is coming soon to Club Rancho Sahuarita! What is Pickleball? Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines the elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. It is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood, graphite or aluminum. The ball used is similar to a whiffle ball but slightly smaller. Pickleball uses a lower net, making the game accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Beginning January, 4th, 2019, Tennis Court #2 will be marked to form four Pickleball courts. Every Tuesday, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Tennis Court #2 will be used exclusively for Pickleball. Portable nets will be set out at those times. Tennis Court #1 will still be available for tennis during those times.
Don’t have a paddle? The front desk will have paddles and balls available for check out. The Pickleball courts can be reserved at the front desk.
